Man that driver compartment in your buss looks like something European busses had in the 70's - 80's. Of course its n ot fair to compare 2020's busses to a 2015 but even back then busses here was a lot better both outside and inside with comfortable seating's for driver and passenger, and also focused on safety. And how tiny the doors on the NA buss are. Can barely filt a wheel chair. Busses now is on another level. though i thought that Isuzu didn't look particularly good inside, nut i guess its fairly standard for "city" busses. Her in Norway we got a lot of Express busses (what you call coach) moving people from further outside the cities. Those are real nice inside✌

I can see some of the theatrical type of short clips from other videos. It's to make it look funny. Sometimes when you make a video about a bus, sometimes they think a bus video is just about as boring as the buses themselves. The Europeans don't waste space on their buses at all. Now I am not sure what safety measures they use to help keep passengers from falling out of the seats. A seat over the steer tires makes it a huge hit for tourism.

I think and know. Ok, driving any vehicle can be challenging. I have driven corporate cars, stretch limousine, Semi trucks for Detroit car factories, school bus, Charter Bus, and multiple military vehicles. Without a doubt 7-12 year old children school bus route will test the patience of "Job" the biblical version. There is NO A/C on a summer school bus in northern states, so it can be (90° plus) with all windows open. So please show the respect all commercial drivers deserve. Semper Fi

This rule is the most foreign thing for me yet to learn on your channel. A bus that doesn't allow children to stay in their strollers would cause national outrage here in Germany. There is always at least one, oftentimes 2 large areas for strollers in buses here.

That new American bus' driver's area looks like the cockpit of a fighter jet. There is one German word coming into mind when seeing that Mercedes Future Bus: Schnickschnack (=pretty but useless stuff). Like you said it wouldn't survive one day without getting vandalized. From a passenger's point of view I couldn't really tell which brand that drives around here in Germany I'd prefer. We got Mercedes (of course), M.A.N, Kässbohrer Setra, Neoplan, Solaris and Frankfurt recently got a couple of BYD (Chinese) Electrical busses... I just hope they don't explode.

I think the mono glass on the European windshield, rather then the split. Is a regulation/safety thing as we do love saving money here. I think split screens are far more lightly to cave in/separate when hit. ✌&❤

I'm more than ready. I'm from NYC, and about to start driving buses. This video is especially true here.

Who knew that when the brits get new busses you get are old ones. Cool. The drivers area is your office space. Your in it all day. The employer has a duty to make it as good for you as his work space is. Oh and about the split windscreen glass. That is a un-needed distraction when you got 50 kids onboard. Soon spaceships will have bigger glass windows than a US bus.

A lot of American mind set is, if it ain't broke don't fix it. That's why your busses look old and lack some features the rest of the world has. And other thing your Public transport is...for better word lacking so they don't see the need to upgrade some of the features so that it could service passengers better. It's weird limbo where there isn't enough Public transport passengers to build better service and service is so low that potential passengers opt to use car. And one more thing as European trucker self driving is still 10 years down the pipeline probably more and after that another 10 to 15 years so that Driver is still with the car before those are fully autonomous.

Hi I am european. Cool video. But I have one big issue with interior of your bus. How the hell can somebody disabled on wheelchair get to that area that was created for him/her? It does not make any sense. In my country, there are no futuristiic busses (they would be vandalised too), but all of them have big doors right next to the area for disabled so that he/she has no obstacles making it from the inside to the outside and vice-versa. And those doors are maked from outside that this is where disabled can get it. And on some busses we have separate doors for disabled and separate doors for mothers with strollers... both leading to the space created especially for them.

That Isuzu guy was going on and on about those headlights! Tell us something about bus capacity or range or price. I live in a Japanese city about as far away from Tokyo as you can get. Our town of 160,000 has old, stinky, rusty, noisy buses. The busfare is based on how far you ride the bus. You have to get on the bus at the back and pull a ticket from a machine. The ticket has the number of the busstop at which you got on the bus. When you get off the bus, you have to get off in front by the driver. You have to throw your coins in the glass box along with that ticket. How do you know how much to put in the box? I kid you not, there is a big electronic board at the front of the bus that shows fares by ticket number. Yes, there are about thirty different fares shown on this electronic board. The fares keep updating the further the bus drives. Of course, I prefer the American system where you basically pay the same fare no matter how far you go. Or has that changed since I left the USA? My greatest experience recently in America was taking the Red and Grey Line bus in Mountain View, CA. Okay, it was small, rattly, and old, but the driver was friendly and it was FREE! Yep, all those tech billionaires can ride the bus for free. Just kidding, I only saw old people like me using it.

Hello from germany. Without having seen this video i am a 100% sure that your job is really hard. Especially in high populated areas and city centers. You are responsible for the people IN the bus AND everything AROUND it. your bus is the same dangerous weapon like a car but its bigger, heavier, less manoeuvrable ... let's say way deadlier! So just beeing sleepy or distracted for a second can end horrible. Your job is the opposite of being lazy. Ps: i'm used to hear english but not to speak/write it.

Yes, the split windscreen on American buses will be cheaper to replace if it breaks - and even cheaper if each side is flat. But in Europe we haven't had flat-glass split-screen windscreens since the 1950's. That's why your buses look so old to us. Just like your big 18-wheeler trucks have the triangular bonnet out front with the front wheels under mudguards: That's how we used to build cars in the 1950's. Those sort of external features just make it look to us, outside the USA, as if you're stuck in the past, keeping design styles that other countries abandoned 75 years ago.

In my opinion almost everything in Europe is better,it depends what country...

Seems that design wise European busses are quite different (may it be for cultural, technologically or social reasons) but at the end of the day i'm sure both do their job perfectly fine :) But i do hope ya'll can improve the design and ergonomics a bit, + with service improvements it can have a big impact on peoples perception of a bus :D
